Samajik Vikas Kendra – Social Development Centre
Welcome to Samajik Vikas Kendra : Nourishing Lives with Food, Care, and Happiness.
We are dedicated to making a positive difference in the lives of those in need and creating a better world for everyone. At Samajik Vikas Kendra , we have been selflessly working for the upliftment and overall development of slum, street, and begging children for the past twenty-five years.
Our mission is to promote social development, provide care, and develop sustainable solutions to address various challenges faced by our communities. Through a series of educational, recreational, and training programs, we strive to empower and support these vulnerable children. Our work is rooted in the belief that every child deserves access to education, a safe environment, and opportunities for a brighter future.
One of our key initiatives is operating two orphanages in Mumbai, Dreamz Home Center for Girls in Malad East and Dreamz Home Center for Boys near Malwani Police Station in Malad West. These orphanages provide a nurturing home for orphaned children, offering them education, healthcare, emotional support, and opportunities for personal growth. We believe in providing a loving and secure environment where these children can thrive and overcome their circumstances.

Our Objective
How It All Started
It all started from the street. In the busy city of Mumbai, Vijay Karande, lived a life that seemed ordinary to most. His daily routine was much like anyone else’s in the city, until one day, it wasn’t.
He had always noticed the elderly beggar at the traffic signal. He often saw her during his commute, her tired eyes filled with the sad reality of life. One morning, Vijay noticed a small crowd gathered at the signal. The old woman, who was a familiar part of his daily commute, lay still on the pavement, lifeless. The sight shook him deeply, leaving an impression on his heart.
Coming back home that day, he couldn’t help but notice the difference in how he cared for his dog, Fluffy, and how the old woman had been left to fend for herself. This contrast sparked a decision within him – he decided he needed to do something to help people like her.
With a pragmatic approach, he started shelter homes in Malad and Karjat. These weren’t just homes providing shelter and food. They were designed to offer medical aid, companionship, and a sense of dignity to the elderly.

Founder Message
Samajik Vikas Kendra has been my heartfelt endeavor for the past 25 years, dedicated to educating and rehabilitating the underprivileged and abandoned. Our journey since 1997 has been a testament to our growth, resilience, and the values we hold dear. I feel very proud to tell our work, like our logo, symbolizing our unwavering objective of “Food and care for All,” while commemorating our remarkable accomplishments, struggles, and meaningful associations.
It all started with a humble Day Care Centre program for children in Chimbai, Bandra. Over time, we have expanded our reach, managing two Children’s Homes and three Old Age Homes across different areas of Mumbai and Karjat. Along this path, we have encountered numerous challenges, but through our unwavering determination, we have ensured the sustainability of our programs for the welfare of the children and abandoned elders we serve.
None of this would have been possible without your unwavering support. Your belief in our cause has been a constant source of strength and motivation. Together, we continue to work tirelessly towards the holistic development of our children and the well-being of our elderly members. With your cooperation and encouragement, we will continue to forge ahead, creating a better future for those in need.
As we embark on the next chapter of our journey, I extend my heartfelt gratitude to each and every one of you. Your continued support will remain pivotal in our pursuit of a more compassionate and inclusive society. Together, let us strive towards a brighter tomorrow, where no one is left behind and everyone can experience the love, care, and opportunities they deserve.
